Botanical Garden.

We all know how relaxing it is just to be in the nature, to see an amazing living organism or to observe a plant. Last week, our Erasmus+ Activity project based on these ideas. Grade 10 with the Biology teacher from BME International Secondary Grammar School of Budapest had a short trip to the Botanical Garden of Eötvös Loránd University. This garden is a nature reserve area where Botanists are doing their research and students can study taxonomy, plant physiology and plant ...anatomy. The place is popular among people who would like to have a nice, relaxing walk in a natural environment in the middle of the city. Our students had the opportunity to have a pleasant walk in the garden, visit the palm house, play in the Japanese garden and observe tropical and subtropical plants. They could identify and observe common Hungarian plants and non-native species as well, like carnivorous plants, Mimosa or Welwitschia.

April 2016 - GIMNAZJUM NR 2 TRZEBINIA in POLAND – LIVING ACTIVLY IN HARMONY WITH NATURE

The motto of this month was MEET ACTIVE INSPIRATION !!!

Time to sum up APRIL activities - the month of INTENSE OUTDOOR RECREATION AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

Nature walks, hikes or rides offer rejuvenation for body and mind.
Everywhere you look in nature you find balance, harmony, life, and renewal.
Our planet holds a world of secrets just waiting to be discovered.

Duing the month the students took part in another nature trip.
This time they admired the charms of Cracow-Częstochowa Upland in a spring sunshine. They climbed up Ogrodzieniec Castle Hill and the nearby climbers areas. Then hiked in the nature reserve of Mount Zborów, which impressed them much. The most adventurous students experienced caving through the Berkow cave.

There was also a chance to try one's hand at cycling!!!

A &  E students from Gimnazjum nr  Trzebinia took part in the recreational 40-kilometer Kryspinów- Trzebinia Bike Ride. The rally route ran in a beautiful area of Krakow-Czestochowa Upland.
About 2,000 cyclists, including 10 from our school and a dozen graduates enjoyed the stunning spring views and simply had a good time.

Can a teacher with passion be an inspiration for the student ??? – YES, FOR SURE.

The best example of this are the teachers in our school who, not without reason, are taking part in the A&E project promoting healthy lifestyle.
Mr. Robert Łączka and Mr. Dariusz Wcisło showed us how actively spend time fulfilling  own passions.

The lecture promoting healthy and active way of spending free time close to the nature was organized. The speech about holidays adventures to Georgia was made by PE teacher Dariusz Wcisło. Together with other PE teacher Robert Łączka and three other friends went to reach the 5000 high summit - Kazbek (5033asl). Teenagers had a chance to see the beauty of icy mountains, Caucasus. They saw how differential is Georgia. Mr. Wcisło pictured that you need to be well prepared to such an adventure. We can't forget about good fitness condition and nutrition during months before the trip. Surely after this speech the students are motivated to being active.

The teachers also shared their passion for marathon running.
Only in the month of April they took part in three marathons including the cross-country mountain running Pearls of Malopolska .

Will the participants of the project follow in their footsteps?  Some of our students have already done it !!!

Dozens of students from Trzebinia primary and secondary schools, including representatives of our school, took part in the Run Athletics for Everyone at Orlen Warsaw Marathon, on  April 23rd in the area around the National Stadium in Warsaw.

On the 4th of May the BME International Secondary Grammar School of Budapest students had a little excursion to Hármashatárhegy, which is located on Buda side, at 495 m above the sea level. The mountain is popular place for hiking, biking and paragliding. Hármas-Határ-Hegy means "Three Border Mountain" (Buda, Óbuda, Pesthidegkút), these three city borders met at this point in the 19th century. Today, these cities have merged into Budapest.
During the excursion our Geography teacher explained the life of the forest.
